FBI confirms 11th suspicious package; this one addressed to New Jersey Gov. Cory Booker

On Friday, New York Police Department closed a Manhattan intersection to traffic pedestrians and traffic as investigators handle a suspicious package.

As Police investigate the package, New York Police Department said motorists and pedestrians should avoid the area near W.52nd St between 8th and 9th Avenues.

In recent days police have investigated multiple unattended packages and are urging the public to report anything that could be dangerous.

Police have been on heightened alert in the wake of 11 bomb-like devices addressed to prominent Democrats, including former President Barack Obama, Former Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

On Friday, the FBI confirmed a device addressed to Democrat Sen. Cory Booker was recovered in Florida. The device addressed to Booker, a possible was "similar to the others" sent to prominent.

On Thursday, the New York Police Department Bomb Squad handled multiple unattended packages inside a mall at 10 Columbus Circle before declaring the area safe.
