Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) found lying unattended on the road in Rajasthan after Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election
On Friday, the Election Commission suspended two election officials with immediate effect after a sealed Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) found lying unattended on the road in Shahabad area of Kishanganj Assembly Constituency in Rajasthan’s Baran district.
Collector SP Singh and District Election Officer issued the suspension order after taking cognisance of the fact finding report of the returning officers, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kishanganj in connection with this incident.
Two Election officials named Abdul Rafeeq and Patwari Naval Singh were suspended with immediate effect on grounds of negligence on Friday.
After this incident, the ballot unit has been kept in the strong room with protection in Kishanganj.
Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election conducted on Friday and the results of that election will be announced on December 11, 2018.
